I am a professional midwife who has attended more than 160 births, taught 30 seminars on natural birth and developed the only local doula certification program. I am an expert on natural birth, waterbirth, prenatal care, breastfeeding, early parenthood and family bonding.
While studying pre-medicine at the University of Montana in 2001, I had the honor of witnessing a natural birth and fell in love with the process. After 4 years of college I changed directions and enrolled in Ancient Art Midwifery Institute. Afterwards, I completed the requirements for didactic work and experience with licensed Montana midwives Pat Schwaiger, Kathleen Hall and Ollie Hamilton. In 2010 I passed the North American Registry of Midwives written exam and experience requirements to receive my Certificate as a Professional Midwife. This is the highest Certificate available from the Midwives Alliance of North America.
